Creative Ballet and Dance Discovery

HMD’s Creative Ballet Classes (3 - 5 years) introduce children to the joy and excitement of dance, music and movement specifically through ballet. With a focus on creative, social, emotional and physical development, students will be introduced to the basic ballet technique with a consideration of the 3 - 5 year old physical development skills. Students will be exposed to dance vocabulary and will grow in their abilities of coordination, balance, body awareness and as they progress through the class to link movement together, challenging their memory in addition to creativity, strength and flexibility.
The school year program runs August, 17th 2024 through May 17th 2025.
The full year program runs from August 17th 2024 through August 2nd 2025.
HMD observes the same holidays as the HISD.
The recital to be scheduled in May 17th 2025

Creative Ballet prepares the students for the next level which is Dance Discovery.
Dance Discovery Classes (5 - 7 years) introduce children to the joy and excitement of dance, music and movement. Students will be exposed to Ballet, Jazz and Modern dance vocabulary and will grow in their ability to link movement together, challenging their memory in addition to creativity, strength and flexibility. With a focus on creative, social, emotional and physical development, students will use movement to problem solve, work with others, express feelings, and interact with their environment.
The school year program runs August, 17th 2024 through May 17th 2025.
The full year program runs from August 17th 2024 through August 2nd 2025.

2024/ 2025 Class Schedule

Dance Discovery 9:00a - 9:45a
Dance Discovery prepares the students for the next level which is Ballet I, Jazz I or Modern I.
Although our 2024/2025 schedule does not included weekday classes we are always willing to add classes to our schedule based on interest.
Class Attire:
HMD’s Dress Code is designed to give students the freedom to dress comfortably while ensuring their physicality can be seen and their rage of motion is unobstructed. Because the instructors need to be able to see body lines for placement, we request no baggy gym wear.
We specifically request NO Street Clothes, especially jeans and crop tops. Students will not be admitted to class wearing street clothes (school uniforms are not appropriate clothing for our dance classes)
Creative Ballet and Dance Discovery Class Attire -
Leotard with tights (Skin Tone or Pink), Leotard Dress (skirt attached) with tights (Skin Tone or Pink). Ballet Shoes (Skin Tone or Pink).
Yoga or gym wear, Solid Color T-Shirt or Tank Top with Shorts or Jazz Pants.
Creative Ballet Students should have Ballet Shoes.
Dance Discovery Students can choose between Ballet Shoes and Jazz Shoes.
Please No Crop Tops, Jeans or Street clothes.
